Outside of the Classroom

While at American University I have been working with ConnectedSF and Music is First! to help them advance their digital presence and communications.

  • At ConnectedSF I collaborate with CSF founders to raise local awareness for our 11 neighborhood groups, their educational non-profit, and the parent organization. As part of my role, I manage communications between ConnectedSF and local high schools to organize canvassing groups to expanding our outreach, work closely with the nonprofit's executive director to assist with digital communications to enhance our online presence. To do so, I focus on increasing our digital presence on social media platforms to gain new members and boost engagement. To improve our visibility, I have enhanced SEO for 12 websites, resulting in increased organic search traffic.Additionally, I promot events and community-led initiatives which has successfully increasing attendance and participation. • At Music is First! I assist nonprofit founders with their daily operations, which includes managing initial inquiries from the public, providing grant research support, and curating social content to increase engagement and followers. My responsibilities extend to managing communications and curating social media content, which significantly contributes to increased engagement and funding for Music is First!. To do so, a crucial aspect of my work involves converting longer-form content, such as lesson plans, blog posts, articles, and grant proposals, into micro-content suitable for social media posting. With the content I create I post it on their social media accounts which I manage. Check out Music is First!’s website here.
